Connect Square

If you already sell through Square, Revively can take online card payments and in-person Square Terminal payments on your existing Square account. Money settles to Square as it does today - Revively never holds your funds.

Square is enabled per account by Revively support. If you do not see the Square card, ask support to turn it on.

Connect your account

  1. Go to Settings → Methods and find the Square card under Payment providers.
  2. Click Connect Square and sign in to your Square account.
  3. Approve the permissions Revively asks for so it can create payments and read your locations.
  4. You return to Settings with Square connected. The card now shows Merchant and your business name.
  5. If your Square account has more than one location, pick the right one under Square location.
  6. Optionally set Square as your Default for online or Default for terminal if you also use Stripe or PayPal.

There are no API keys to copy. Everything is done through Square sign-in, and your Square secrets stay on the server.

Pair a Square Terminal

Once Square is connected and enabled, each location gets a terminal panel.

  1. Open the location under the Square card and choose Pair Square Terminal.
  2. Give the reader a Terminal label so staff can tell readers apart, for example Front desk.
  3. Choose Create device code.
  4. On the Square Terminal itself, enter the device code Revively shows you.

Codes must be created here. A code you generate in the Square Dashboard will not work with the Terminal API that Revively uses.

What Square covers

  • Online card payments on staff invoices and on customer portal checkout - items, packages, events, courses, and booking deposits.
  • In-person invoice payments on paired Square Terminal readers.
  • Refunds against payments taken through Square.

What Square does not cover

  • Your Revively subscription. Platform billing always runs on Stripe.
  • Recurring memberships, saved cards, and payment-plan auto-charge. Those are Stripe-only.
  • Term enrolment checkout in the customer portal, which requires Stripe.

If you need memberships as well as Square, connect Stripe too and leave Square as your default for terminal.

Turn Square off or disconnect

Switching the card off stops Revively using Square but keeps the connection, so you can turn it back on without signing in again. Disconnect removes the link entirely and Revively stops using that Square account for online and terminal payments until you connect again.
