Payment methods, bank deposits, and PayID

Payment methods are how money reaches you. Turn them on under Settings → Methods. Customers and staff only see the methods you enable.

This is separate from payment policies, which decide how much is due now (pay in full, a deposit, or instalments). A customer can still settle that amount by card, bank deposit, or PayID.

Revively subscription billing (your plan) is also separate - that lives under Settings → Subscription.

Turn methods on

  1. Go to Settings → Methods.
  2. Enable each method you accept. You need at least one.
  3. For Bank deposit or PayID, fill in the account details that appear, then Save changes.

The fields you see depend on the country on your business address.

Methods at a glance

Method Who it is for When the invoice is paid
Card Online checkout, pay-now links, and Stripe Terminal Immediately, through your connected Stripe account
EFTPOS A standalone terminal you already have When staff record the payment
Cash Till payments When staff record the payment
Bank deposit EFT into your business bank account When staff confirm the deposit, or Xero marks the invoice paid
PayID (Australia) The same pending flow, using your PayID instead of BSB and account number Same as bank deposit
Gift cards Stored-value codes When a code is redeemed against the invoice

Gift cards are always available. Connect Stripe (and optionally SmartPay) on the same Methods page under payment providers.

Bank deposit vs PayID

Bank deposit is an offline EFT into your business account. PayID is the same pending-confirm flow, using a PayID (email, phone, or ABN) instead of BSB and account number.

Customers only see the method you enabled. If you enable both, they pick one, and they are shown only that rail plus a payment reference such as INV1234.

The invoice stays unpaid until the money has landed. Neither method is Stripe PayTo - PayTo is an instant bank debit through Stripe, configured on your Stripe account.

Australia

Bank deposit needs the account name, a 6-digit BSB, and the account number.

PayID is a separate method: account name plus a PayID. You do not need BSB details to offer PayID.

New Zealand

Enter the account name and the full 15- or 16-digit bank account (bank, branch, account, suffix). BSB and PayID are not used. The account number is shown hyphenated, for example 12-3456-0123456-00.

Optional instructions

The Instructions box is shown with the payment details. Use it for anything extra the customer needs - which bank to look for, when you check the account, or to put the reference in the transfer description.

Take payment

  1. Open the invoice and choose Bank deposit or PayID.
  2. Choose Request bank deposit or Request PayID details. That creates a pending payment and shows the details plus the reference.
  3. The customer can do the same from the portal (Pay by bank deposit or Pay by PayID).
  4. When the transfer appears in your bank, open the invoice and choose Confirm deposit received.
  5. Cancel the pending payment if they will pay another way.

If Xero is connected, matching the statement line to the invoice there also marks it paid in Revively - you do not have to confirm it twice.

Accounting

When Xero is connected, requesting bank details pushes that invoice to Xero as awaiting payment, with the same INV1234 reference, so it can be matched to the bank statement. Those invoices are left off the daily summary so they are not posted twice.

If Xero is not connected, confirmed deposits land on the confirmation day's daily summary as Bank deposit or PayID. Map a Bank deposits account under Settings → Accounting, or they fall back to your checking account.
