Flight logbook and aircraft meters
Flight school accounts can record Hobbs/tach, crew hours, and syllabus lessons when checking out a service booking.
Where to capture a flight
- Open the booking and use Checkout (service checkout) after the sortie.
- Enter airports, flight rules, Hobbs/tach in and out, day/night splits, and optional syllabus lesson.
- Creating the invoice stores the flight log, updates aircraft meters, and can link a lesson attempt.
You can also open Invoice from booking and fill the same flight log section when resourceMeters applies.
Aircraft setup
On each aircraft resource, set:
- Aircraft category (SEP, MEP, SET, MET, or FSTD)
- Current Hobbs / tach
- Maintenance due Hobbs (optional) - booking is blocked when current Hobbs reaches this reading
- Grounded - sticky AOG flag that blocks booking until cleared
Logbook
Catalog & Setup → Logbook lists completed sorties with route, students, instructors, hours, and syllabus lesson.
Student and instructor dashboards also show personal flight history.
The customer Logbook tab and the person area Logbook page read person_flight_logs (CASA hour cells). Completing a school sortie copies the student's hours into that person logbook (read-only for the student). Staff can add an external line for flying done elsewhere. Students add their own private rows in the person app. Sharing with a studio is a separate toggle from metrics (share_flight_logs_with_account).
Catalog Logbook, checkout, and aircraft Hobbs/tach are unchanged.
Ratings and aircraft match
Capability types can list aircraft categories they authorize. When at least one capability type maps to an aircraft's category, bookings require the assigned instructor to hold a current (non-expired) matching capability.
